The Irish Petroleum Industry Association has moved to assure customers that strict protocols are in place in filling stations around Ireland to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
They have said that “fuel pump handles are no more or less prone to the spread of infection than any other hard surface” They want to ensure the public that filling stations throughout Ireland are taking significant steps to combat the spread of Covid-19 and keeping their customers safe.”
At Fitzpatrick’s New Lodge we are asking our customers to use the disposal gloves provided when filling up their vehicle at our filling station.
We also want to ensure our customers that we have implemented enhanced hygiene protocols, in line with HSE advice. Our workers regularly wash and sanitise their hands and the areas customers interact with such as fuel nozzles, credit card PIN pads, door handles and food areas. In line with Government guidance, if an employee feels unwell they are asked to stay at home. We have provided hand sanitiser at entry/exit points within our shop and disposal gloves and paper towels at the fuel pump area.
We all have a role to play in controlling this deadly virus and we ask all our valued customers to remain safe over this difficult period.
